Law School

General Information

Your First Assignment

A significant component of orientation will be time spent in the Lawyering Skills I course (LS).

The texts required for the one week intensive LS will be Edgar Bodenheimer, An Introduction to the Anglo-American Legal System (4th ed., Thomson West 2004).
Due to a potential policy change, please refrain from purchasing the Bodenheimer book until you receive further instructions from Ben Hoffman, Director of Admissions.

The second day of class all additional books required for the course will be necessary - please consult the book list for those titles. Prior to the first day of class on August 19, you will be responsible for reading Bodenheimer pages 1-78. For the second day of class you need to have read pages 79-118 of the same text. You will be responsible for this material and may be questioned on it.

Each day of orientation, you will receive additional assignments and you will be evaluated on all the material at the end of the intensive week. Professor Kirsten Dauphinais, Director of Lawyering Skills, will be leading the course, so if you have any questions, please e-mail her at kdauphinais@law.und.edu
