Setting up Student Printers for Macintosh
- Download Required Files to your Desktop:
- Remove all previous printers you currently have set up for the Law School Library.
- Open System Preferences found in the Apple drop down menu at the top left of your screen.
- Open "Printers and Fax"
- Select any printer you currently have set up for the Law School Library (Circ1, Circ2, CircDesk, Circulation Desk, etc)
- Click the minus (-) sign under the list of printers
- Install the Black and White Circulation Desk Printer
- Open System Preferences found in the Apple drop down menu at the top left of your screen.
- Open "Printers and Fax"
- Click the add (+) button below the list of printers
- Click "IP Printer" at the top of the window.
- Change the "Protocol:" to Line Printer Daemon - LPD
- Change the "Address:" to print.law.und.edu
- Change the "Queue:" to CircDeskBW
- Change the "Name:" to CircDeskBW
- Leave the "Location:" blank.
- Change "Print Using:" to HP
- Scroll down and select HP LaserJet 5100 Series
- Click "Add"
- Put a Checkmark in "Tray 3", "Tray 4", and "Duplex Unit"
- Click "Continue"
- Install the Color Circulation Desk Printer
- Open System Preferences found in the Apple drop down menu at the top left of your screen.
- Open "Printers and Fax"
- Click the add (+) button below the list of printers
- Click "IP Printer" at the top of the window.
- Change the "Protocol:" to Line Printer Daemon - LPD
- Change the "Address:" to print.law.und.edu
- Change the "Queue:" to CircDeskColor
- Change the "Name:" to CircDeskColor
- Leave the "Location:" blank.
- Change "Print Using:" to HP
- Scroll down and select HP Color LaserJet 4650
- Click "Add"
- Put a Checkmark in "Tray 3", "Tray 4", and "Duplex Unit"
- Change "Memory Configuration" to "416 - 544 MB RAM"
- Click "Continue"
