See Generally & Quotes

When using a "See generally" cite, a short form is acceptable under (BB 10.9(a))

Example:
See generally, United States v. Montoya de Hernandez, 473 U.S. 531.

Quote as part of a sentence:
When using a quote as merely part of a sentence, do not use an ellipsis either before or after the quote. (BB 5.3(a))

Similarly, when using a quote that began a sentence in the cited source but does not begin the sentence in your work, change the capital letter on the first word in the cited source to the lower case letter enclosed in brackets.

Example:
Cited authority = Writing for North Dakota Law Review is an excellent opportunity to improve your writing skills.

Your work = Scholars throughout the world agree that "[w]riting for North Dakota Law Review is an excellent opportunity."

OR

Your work = Scholars throughout the world agree that "[w]riting for North Dakota Law Review is an excellent opportunity to improve your writing skills."
