Law Clerk: Grand Forks, ND. The Grand Forks County State’s Attorney’s Office is seeking a third year law student from the Class of 2011 for a Law Clerk commencing May of 2010 through May of 2011. The law clerk will be responsible for drafting complaints, legal research, District and Appellate Court brief writing, District and Appellate Court oral arguments, trial work, administrative hearings, child support hearings, and assisting the attorneys of the Grand Forks County State’s Attorney’s Office in the prosecution of criminal cases, including trial work and other litigation. The law clerk would be employed on a full-time basis during the summer of 2010 and on a part-time basis during the following school year. The clerkship pays $12.00 per hour. Summer Law Clerk: Bismarck, ND. Legal Services of North Dakota (LSND) is interested in hiring a Summer Law Clerk. This position is open to 1L or 2L students. LSND represents low-income clients throughout North Dakota, practices in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies. Caseload includes wide variety of cases including consumer, housing, family, poverty, public benefits and elder law and Indian law. QUALIFICATIONS: Sensitivity to client needs, strong oral and written communications skills. Experience in working with low-income people is preferred. CVIC exists to assist victims of violence and to promote safety, peace, and respect for all individuals.
